June 3, 2024After serving the Bank for 37 years, Mandla Dlamini, who was the Deputy Director, Payments System has reached his retirement age. Dlamini started his journey at the Bank in 1987 as a Clerical Officer in the Internal Audit Department and later climbed the ranks to a managerial position. His tenure at the Bank has been punctuated by a series of successes, which include the instrumental role he played in the advancement of Eswatini’s payments systems landscape, mainly the development of a strong payments’ regulatory framework and reform as well as the ongoing implementation of the national payments switch project.
His valuable input was recognized by the Governor during his farewell event, who noted that through his leadership, the Bank continued to monitor payment operations in the Eswatini ecosystem and conducted inspections on designated payment systems and mobile money transfer services to ensure that payment systems continue to make financial transactions efficient, secure, and reliable. His former colleagues also showered him with accolades for his exceptional leadership skills and dedication through his strong work ethic. Director, Human Capital, Zithulele Gina thanked Dlamini for sharing his knowledge and expertise on complex banking procedures. “We often had rich conversations. You have ensured that the gap you are leaving behind will not be felt much because you groomed your staff well. If only you would stay around for another 10 years to mentor the new people who will join the Bank.
You were a good and faithful servant of the Bank,” Gina said. In his brief remarks, Dlamini said he would truly cherish the years he spent at the Bank. “CBE is the most caring financial institution I have seen in the financial sector. The day has arrived,” he said. Some members of his family were also present to celebrate his long service at the Bank.
