In June 2021, the Rand/Lilangeni extended its previous gains against major trading currencies; appreciated by 1.2 per cent against the US Dollar. Credit extended to the private sector recorded an increase of 2.5 per cent month-on-month to settle at E15.7 billion at the end of May 2021. Broad money supply (M2) reached E20.3 billion at the end of May 2021, 3.2 per cent lower than in April 2021. Gross official reserves accelerated by 16.1 per cent month-on-month to settle at E8.2 billion at the end of June 2021. As at the end of June 2021 public domestic debt was recorded at E16.1 billion an equivalent of 22.7 per cent of GDP.
