November 22, 2024The IndabaX ended on a high note last Friday, with young innovators in technology walking away with cash prizes. The IndabaX AI and Machine Learning hackathon and poster presentations is a competition supported by the Bank, together with its strategic partners in the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), Eswatini Communications Commission (ESCCOM), Eswatini Revenue Services (ERS), the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), among others.
CBE Governor Dr. Phil Mnisi said in a world increasingly shaped by technology, it was inspiring to see young people rise to the challenge and seize the opportunities presented by AI and machine learning. He further praised their participation in the competition, stating that such not only showcased the young minds’ incredible potential but fostered a vibrant community of AI enthusiasts. “As the CBE, we recognize our role in fostering an environment that supports innovation and creates pathways for growth. We are committed to initiatives like this and will continue to lend our support to platforms that empower our youth and drive our nation’s progress,” he said.
In unison, the other stakeholders congratulated this year’s winners and challenged the participants, dominated by University students, to continue coming up with viable and innovative products.
